Installation of system

1. Cut column to desired finished length minus 1/4" for plate thickness, then insert cap and base onto the column shaft.

2. Attach one end of the threaded eyebolt through the center hole of the bottom plate. Make sure the bowl portion of the plate is facing inside the column shaft. Insert the flat washer then a lock washer and finally the nut onto the threaded eyebolt.

3. Feed the other end of the cable through the column shaft. Repeat step two for the top of the column. Slide both cap and base around plates to center them with the column shaft.

4. YOU MUST HOLD THE EYEBOLT end in place with vice grips while tightening the nut with an open end wrench. Do not allow eyebolt to turn. When the lock washers on both sides are compressed the system is tight and set.

5. Cut both pieces of excess thread from the eyebolt. Make sure you cut to the inside of the bowl for a flush fit.

6. Slide the column into its final position and mount plates to the concrete slab and the roof structure. You must provide the appropriate hardware for your specific application. It may be necessary to shim base plates with washer to compensate for the grade on the slab.
